Tyler K Smith
Tyler revels in the artistic process, the heroic struggle of exacting that perfect, gestural form from the rendering of disparate materials.
Exploring the relationship between nature and its facilitating twin – technology – are what drive that process. His personal perception as to what is “real” can be rather subjective, as the “natural” forms he refers to are not necessarily optical and the “technology” he imagines is often an unpredictable aberration of his own desires.
“My artistic progeny are the resulting extrusions of natural and mechanical forms from my own highly impressionable (pop-subculturized, product-of-my-environment, victim-of-my-time) neo cortex.”
