ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a visual archeologist. Visual Archaeology combines unrelated images to tell stories. My work explores the relationship between structure and spirit, visible and invisible, fragments and whole, presence and absence.
I am inspired by how the patterns and structures of nature relate to humanity. Concept, image and medium are complements. As in nature, form follows function.
My new series, “Surface Tension,” manipulates oil sheen patterns with abstractions of natural patterns. New work consists of large scale graphite and metallic pigment drawings on paper, frosted mylar and aluminum. They are framed, mounted or hung as scrolls.
